01Chair, Rescue Paws of Zanzibar e. V.
Sina.
It was actually just a holiday. Today Sina chairs an association that, together with a whole community, helped build a place for Zanzibar’s animals.
02Sina in brief
Someone who can't look away.
28 years old
Sina is 28 years old and lives in Germany.
Social media
Her main job is in social media.
Six cats
At home she lives with six cats. She is a huge cat and animal lover.
03In Sina’s words
“Sometimes a single encounter changes everything.”
“My trip to Zanzibar in September 2024 was actually just meant to be a holiday. Then I found a badly injured cat at the hotel, and everything turned out differently.”
Our very first photo together: on holiday on Zanzibar, when Makame wanted to help me with the cat.
04Her role
A bridge between Germany and Zanzibar.
Chair
Sina leads Rescue Paws of Zanzibar e. V., the non-profit association in Germany.
The community
She started the first fundraising campaign and keeps everyone who helps connected.
The partnership
The work with the animals is done by the team of Zanzibar Animal Care on site. Rescue Paws supports this work from Germany.
05Her community
Made possible by a community.
Because social media is Sina's main job, she reaches many people who follow her and share her stories. It is exactly this community that made Rescue Paws of Zanzibar possible in the first place.
Through it came the donations that allowed a clinic, animal houses and housing to be built on Zanzibar, and through it comes the ongoing support for the daily care of the animals to this day.
